During consults, I have been asked this question many times, “Will I gain weight after breast augmentation?” and in general my answer is, “The only weight gain should be the weight of the implants.”
After the placement of an average size breast implant, the weight gain should be about a pound or a little more per implant. Nothing catastrophic. There will be a little extra weight gained from the initial swelling but that should go away with time.
